I was told this company conducts an audit on your mortgage lender and uses any negative findings to negotiate better mortgage terms on your behalf - results include principal reduction, rate reduction & payment reduction.
I had already successfully modified my 1st mortgage on my own but they reassured me they could get even better terms -- so I paid $4500 for them to assist w/ my 1st and 2nd mortgage. They said several times "there are no guarantees" and several times my reply was "I can't pay $4500 if you are saying you don't think I'll get results" and they would say "we almost always get results". I asked what would happen if the audit was inconclusive and they said they'd still negotiate with my lender using my hardship and threatening bankruptcy if needed. Their pitch is very convincing.
Six months later I got 1 of 2 audits (never got the 2nd one). When I asked if they had negotiated with my lender I was told "things are changing everyday in the mortgage industry and we can no longer negotiate on our clients behalf like we used to. Besides, the negative findings didn't have enough weight anyway. But we'll complete a workout package for you and submit it to your lender." They basically completed a loan assistance package anyone could get from their lender (most times on the lender's website even).
You're paying a lot of money for a worthless audit and glorified help filling out a loan assistance package. I was mislead about what this attorney does. And go figure - the phone numbers they originally gave me were all disconnected. I had to get new numbers from their website.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
