I have three children, all of whom attended Kids Town (newborn, 2 years, 4 years). My older two children have been attending for the past two and a half years. The experience had been absolutely wonderful up until the new administrator Amy Swinderman took over about six months ago. I started to notice it wasn’t as tightly ran, there was a huge turn over in staff, and only a few original staff members were left. Everytime I would go in children would be literally beating on eachother and staff standing around not doing anything about it. I myself had to say things to the staff multiple times that it was not ok. Soon my 4 year old daughter started coming home upset all the time about being hit by other kids sometimes even hurt by the other kids. Kids spitting in her face etc. I had informed the staff many many times about this happening, but I don’t think it was ever resolved because it still continued almost daily. We had never had these issues before. Four weeks ago yet another additional administrator was added to the mix, Miss. Hanadi, whom right off the bat was never friendly, and I immediately started to see red flags. Everytime I would be in the school for drop off or pickup I would see her yelling and scolding children in ways that are unacceptable as a childcare PROVIDER. Finally my line was drawn when my daughter got hurt early one morning. She fell on her chin and developed a huge hematoma which was busted open and bleeding. This incident happened at 9am and I was never contacted or made aware of the situation until they decided to finally file a report 6 hours later. I came home and saw my daughters chin and was enraged. A report needs to be filed immediately after an incident, my child’s medical record states to call me for anything that happens to my child. Miss Hanadi was in charge and quit frankly uses the school as a hangout and girl club, instead of her job. I bring this to the administrators attention stating it was neglectful to not file a report nor call me, I felt that Miss. Hanadi failed to do her job and on top of it, is verbally abusive. Amy Swinderman had no apologies, no reassurance that they would look into it, she did nothing but defend herself and Miss. Hanadi. I gave them two days to resolve the issue and give me an explanation. Two days go by and I find out Amy Swinderman shared my child’s medical information online. I have screenshots to prove this. I was enraged finding this out while at work. I went into the school and demanded answers, this is absolutely illegal to share a child’s medical information, let alone across Medina county. Amy Swinderman once again defended herself with no explanation or apology. She told me “get your kids and get out”. For all you parents that have children here or are thinking about enrolling your child here, DO NOT DO IT! Unfortunately for Amy she had to call the police in order to not continue to hear about all the wrong doings at Kids Town. I have reported them to ODJFS and have tried to let as many people know as possible. Please protect your children and find a childcare center that will respect you, will hear you, and do their job correctly every single day. These are children, my children, and I will protect and defend my children. All of you others who are still here or end up choosing this place, shame on you. You have been warned. Also shame on the staff who are sheep and not doing what is right. You know who you are, and it’s a really bad way to be starting a life long career in childcare. Do better.
