My husband and I signed up with Janian & Associates in March of 2010. They gave us a full money back guarantee if they were unsuccessful in getting a home loan modification for us. They requested a retainer of $3900. Every time we called to find out what the status of our modification was, we rarely ever got to speak to a live person. When we did speak to someone, they repeatedly asked us to submit information-information that was sent to them prior. Also, whenever we called and asked for our "negotiator" by name, we were told that the person left the company. The second time, the person moved to another department. There was no continuity, we were shuffled from person to person. It was ridiculous. After months of this run around, we received notice from our loan company stating that they did not receive the information necessary from Janian & Associates to make a decision on our modification. We had sent them information more than once and they never forwarded it to Wells Fargo. Finally, we decided to take advantage of the "money back guarantee". Phone calls continuously go unanswered. Emails had gone unanswered. Then we get a response saying that they will give us a partial refund. They listed services rendered and the charges for said services. We refused a partial refund and advised Janian & Associates that we were going to take this to a higher authority. This was the last of our life savings that we handed to these crooks trying to ease our financial burden. We want the full amount returned to us. This was the terms of the agreement when we signed on. They are liars and cheats. Don't use this company! You will be sorry if you do. I would have given them 0 stars if I could have.
