I experienced the same scam. In early Nov.,I saw a news item,supposedly from CNN, on Yahoo's home page of a mother trying to save money, free samples,and you just pay S&H. I did exactly what you did. I didn't receive anything. During the last week of Dec.,I checked my monthly credit card statement and found that Natural Source Store charged me $79.95.Just like you all, I tried to call them,got a recording after recording, left numerous messages to no avail. Finally,late afternoon I called again and a person named Patrick with a British accent answered. Find the package at your apartment leasing office,call me back at extension 492 and we'll go from there. I found three gel filled syringes (really a sample) that couldn't possibly cost $79.95. The next day 12/29/09, I called to ask for a refund and take my name off their list. Only recordings and no response, left numerous messages for Patrick to call me. Nobody called me. The following day, my credit card company alerted me of a possible fraudulent charge of $86.90 by Natural Source Store. I called them several times and again got only recordings.....no response.
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU,BUT I DON'T LIKE BEING MADE A FOOL OF! You KNOW that they're saying to themselves...So what?!...What can they do about it?!
At this point, whining isn't going to do any good; therefore, we need to do THE FOLLOWING:
1. They are no match for the media. Bombard the national and local media with our concerns (i.e.. Paula Zahn; the one they are trying to use her name in their ad., Good Morning America, Today on NBC,60 minutes on CBS,etc...)
2. Be creative in using the Internet to alert the public at large.
3. Call/write complaints to your own state's Attorney General and also to Florida's Attorney General. Dogged determination on your part will get them involved.
4. Call/write your congressman and senators. Also, call/write the congressman for Broward county-Florida where this company is located, and the two senators from Florida. Only, with the tenacity of a badger on your part,you can get them involved. Once you get them involved, everyone will get on the band-wagon and resolve this problem.
5.There has to be a way in order to stop the credit card companies from being the enablers of these type of companies from doing business. Be creative and do research.
REMEMBER...ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS AND THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE!
