The responsible agent was very promising at first. But along the way, failed to communicate properly with me as a client when the existing merchant wrongfully charges us 3x for only 2 tickets causing us to have overdrawn fee.
First - When I told him I am a Delta Skymiles member, he only searched Delta airlines, even if I told him I am more interested with the best airfare price (lower price) as their website offers $523 American Airlines - $592 Gulf Air Airlines. I ask him can we check other airlines? and he responded: Delta is the best offer, I did'nt check other airlines..anyway, they are the best price. Second - When he sent the flight details for confirmation, I didnt realized that it was already confirmed on his end. So, when we said that the time of departure was not feasible, he charges us $15 each flights automatically to change the departure - bcoz he said: I need to go to the system again. A week after, we got overdrawn charges from the bank and the agent cannot help us correct the issue when I ask him to give me a number to contact the existing merchant. He cannot say who the existing merchant was either. Finally, we called Delta instead - to confirm the flights and why their charges was short of $29 more as the agent keeps on insisting. The Delta agent confirmed the price of the ticket, and even if the agent sent me an email with a threat ("you should pay the bal before Mar 8 or else....")they said he can't cancel it unless we the client do so. In our conversation with Delta it looks that the $29 was the agents fee - that was not included of the whole ticket fare. Apparently, he didnt have a way of doing a payment for his own fee - so when he sent us an authorization to sign, the amount of the total ticket noted was $2210 - total amount of ticket is only $2,181, he didnt had the slightest idea how to get his fee considering that we didnt want to do the payments via credit card again. Earlier in the course of doing business with this agent - he didnt say how much his fee was, like other travel agent that I work with. This agent, was saying: I dont know whats this extra fee but thats the price of the ticket.
- With all this fiasco, the agent was in a way apologetic. States that he was very busy at that time and called in to check the status of that extra ticket fee that was made accidentally. He did found a good deal plane ticket for us too - but, I think posting a way too low of a price ticket - not including the surcharge fee and taxes are misleading. I could have scheduled my own flights with Delta by myself with less trouble (without overdrawn fee and done in 10 mins not 2 weeks of grief.)and almost matches the price of the ticket that he found for us.
Also, by keep on stating "It is not my fault" to your client and by saying: "I dont know who the merchant is", when we the client figured out to call Delta instead, is no way a good sign of an experience agent dealing with client and very unprofessional sending us email on all exclamation point and threatening us. Realizing, we are not running a way from his fee - we just wanted to correct the issue and let the merchant possibly refunded the overdrawn fee that incurred due to their mistake.
