UPDATE 9/12/13 Chance Edward Gordon has been disbarred! Updated 12/20/12: Chance Edward Gordon and his law firms was shut down by the federal Consumer Finance Protection Bureau as reported 8/6/12 also reported in American Banker. The States of Ohio and
Florida have also filed lawsuits. One of my clients paid $12,400 to the Resource Law Center for a loan modification for 4 rental properties he owns. This "law center" violated California Law and Federal Trade Commission regulations by taking money up front
for a loan modification service. Then, the firm never produced a loan modification. Further, Resource Law Center aka Gordon Law Firm, aka Gordon & Associates aka National Legal Service, aka Law Office of Edward Gordon, told my client to stop talking with his
lender and to stop making mortgage payments, which he did, in order "to show hardship" according to the scammer. Rick Barasa is the manager of RLC. Also, other staff connected with this scam are Alex Martinez, Mana Hernandez, Adriana Rodriguez, and Jenny Cruz.
Just because these people are connected in some way, probably as employees, does not mean they necessarily knew what Resource Law Center is doing. The address is significant. These companies appear to occupy different suites at the same address. The company
refuses to return my client's money even though they did not get a mortgage modification for him.
