I was on the verge of packing up my daughter & grandchildren & what personal belongings we could & walking away from my home, the only home my grandchildren have ever known because my mortgage was sold to a new mortgage company who has a private company servicing it. My former mortgage company allowed me to divide my payment into bi-weekly payments via automatic withdrawal and did not offer escrow accounts. Even though it was difficult, I was making it. The new servicer required escrow accounts for insurance & taxes even though I provided documentation the taxes were paid every year, They raised my payments from $2053 per month to $3082 per month. I told them there was no way I could afford the new payment amount. I was repeatedly denied assistance &/or a loan modification. They simply suggested I sell my home if I couldn't afford it. When I would send in payments per my contract of $2053, they were held in 'suspense' until I sent in another payment. Meanwhile, late fees & interest continued to accumulate. I was drowning! I was filled with stress & anxiety and felt like a failure to my family. I finally stopped making payments and was consigned to loosing my home. Then one day I received a call from Sarah who was with a non-profit company that helps people save their homes. She referred my to your firm. I was very skeptical at first because I had been told NO & SORRY, YOU DON'T QUALIFY' so many times, I was afraid to trust you when you assured me you could help me. Within 3 months of contracting with your firm, I received correspondence from the loan servicers advising that underwriting had approved me for a modification, I was assigned a single point of contact, collection calls stopped and I began receiving weekly updates on the modification status. And then...I was APPROVED for a modification that reduced my interest by 2% and my payment including interest, principal, insurance & taxes to just over $1700 month!! I can finally breathe again and I CAN KEEP MY HOME!! Thank you!!
